ASUS CEO (Campus Elite Organization) Program started its journey last year to enlighten the students about the changing trends in the IT industry and it has now left impressionable footprints in many of the colleges in India. Targeted towards engineering and management students, this program offers them a perfect platform to get acquainted with the corporate world, market trends and gain some valuable technical knowledge.
Being a CEO with ASUS avails one to work on different projects and promote the ASUS corporate culture and management philosophy to incorporate brand building. The goal set by the CEO program is to implement IT spirit and strengthen partnership between ASUS and the education society. As a part of the sessions, students are given a brief about ASUS and the CEO Program and various technical discussions are held, aptitude tests are conducted and forms are filled. Curiosity, eagerness, urge to learn and grasp more was noticed not only in the students but also in the professors during such events. This overwhelming response speaks volumes about the ASUS CEO program.
Under the CEO Program in the year 2007, ASUS conducted 14 CEO sessions across various grade A+ to B+ engineering and management colleges in India. ASUS also took part in 4 campus festivals and conducted 6 recruitment drives. The recruitment drives were conducted across Mumbai, Kolkatta, Delhi, Bhubneshwar, Bangalore and Pune. Last year’s CEO Program had over 925 attendees and 870 resumes were collected. 150 CEOs were selected through these events. These selected CEOs are now involved in various activities like conducting market surveys, making academic projects for ASUS and giving feedback for product launches during their product training sessions in ASUS. They also help out from time to time with shop decoration and volunteer for various corporate events that ASUS takes part in. 5 training programs were also conducted for the selected CEOs on management philosophy and technology trends.
A lot of positive feedback was received from the students as well as the faculty members for these events. The students opined that the program was a great learning experience rather than a normal seminar and was a first of its kind effort in the college arena. It created a greater awareness about emerging technologies amongst the students. They expressed a keen desire to be a part of ASUS. The faculty members of the colleges where these sessions were conducted believed that ASUS has started a revolution in the field of education and should participate in more such upcoming college festivals.
With such a phenomenal response to the CEO Program in the first year of its inception, ASUS has great plans of taking it further in the coming year. With more CEO recruitment projects, ASUS plans to promote the CEO Program in Class B cities as well. ASUS also plans to participate in most of the Campus IT Festivals in the coming year to create more awareness amongst students about the latest
IT Technology.
