The AM2+ CPU introduces new micro-architecture improving overall performance with true quad-core design. In addtion to 512K L2 cache per core, up to 2MB of L3 cache will be shared up to 4 cores. With DDR2 1066 support, it improved overall performance with quicker access to system memory. HyperTransportTM 3.0 increase bandwidth up to 5.2 GT/s. New multimedia instructions SSE4A supproted speed up multimedia applications. The CPU and northbridge are independently powered to improve system performance by allowing the northbridge to run full speed accessing memory while the core’s frequencies are clocked down.
