Windows Mobile 6 to Windows Mobile 6.1

Users who have previously bought Windows Mobile 6.0 enabled ASUS PDA phones will now have the opportunity to be the first to experience the new Windows Mobile 6.1. This exercise will allow users to obtain a free upgrade to their phone operating systems starting from August for download from the official website.

WM6.1 has continued WM6.0's convenience in operations, and increased the user-friendliness of commonly used functions – allowing users to more easily utilize the handphone upon first use. This new version (WM6.1) contains six main upgraded features:

  1. New Task Manager Application helps users better manage their device's memory and battery life by allowing them to shut down and switch applications and programs for the best performance.

Users can download WM 6.0 from ASUS website directly and follow the same procedure to update the OS version. If you can not find WM 6.0 OS version on the website, please contact local service center/Royal club to assist in updating the OS version back to WM 6.0.

You can check if you have successfully upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1 by pressing [Start] > [settings] > [systems] > [about].
If you can see the words "Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional", then it means that the installation was successful.

3. Can I utilize Windows Mobile 6.0 ActiveSync on Windows Mobile 6.1? Will there be any difference if my PC utilizes Vista or XP?
