What is the issue with Intel Sandy Bridge Chipset?
Intel® on January 31, 2011 announced the detection of a design error in the new Sandy Bridge-based Intel® 6 Series support chip, also known as Cougar Point. In some cases, the Serial ATA (SATA) ports within the chipsets may degrade over time, potentially impacting the performance or functionality of SATA-linked devices, such as hard disk drives and DVD drives. What should I do if I have ASUS Sandy Bridge motherboards?
Please kindly check your computer system to determine if you have utilized SATA port 0 and 1, otherwise please kindly switch to SATA port 0 and 1. Also, ASUS has been a pioneer in providing extra SATA 3Gb/s and SATA 6Gb/s beyond Intel® specifications on our wide range of motherboards. These additional ports are not affected by this design error, offering customers seamless and uninterrupted computing. Please kindly contact our distributors for more information.

How am I entitled to the exchange?
Please kindly visit our official exchange website to register your details. ASUS will notify the registered customers once the replacement motherboards are availability.
